FORLOG.EXE is a simple little dumb,
but helpful utility to keep a modem
internet connection alive by forever
trying to log into a bogus host.
I know, it sounds stupid, but if you
have an internet provider whose system
kicks you off after a period of no
activity, FORLOG will help keep your
blood pressure down. Particularly if
you get kicked off when you are in the
middle of composing a post on-line.
To use forlog, copy the rxftp.dll to
a directory in your dll path, like
c:\os2\dll. Place forlog in whatever
directory you want. You can run it
from an os2 window, or give it an
os2 icon and run it from the desktop.
I set it up to run minimized so that
I don't have to watch it run through
its dumb loop to keep me connected.
Actually, I have moved forlog to my
startup folder...run it and forget it!
Fortunately, forlog puts nearly 0
strain on the cpu. At least that's
what my load monitor tells me.
If you have the problem of getting
dumped from your connection. Welcome
to the club. I hope forlog eases your
nerves.
Please register forlog by sending
me email at:

PS: If you haven't tried my freeware
ftp utility, sftp, the current
version is on hobbes.nmsu.edu/incoming.
The sftp version as of 5/27/1996
is sftp126.zip.
PSPS:
FORLOG uses the IBM rxftp.dll, so I
have included the license agreement
with forlog1.zip
